Thanks to our love for music and a passion for events, the chosen industry has been determined. And with the arrival of the corona crisis, we faced a reality check and were able to evaluate about this clubculture we call home.

But also our home is filled with challenges we need to overcome. Within this project we focus on the comfort from the event industry. Comfort breeds stagnation, and a disinterest in change.

But change, innovation, experiment are the pillars of this culture underneath the industry. We need new combinations, new creativity and most of all the new generation. 

WHY?

We were fulfilled with the work within the event industry we did:  bringing people together through events, parties, gatherings and communities. Yet, we became exhausted; working long hours, missing friends and familie, the lack of self care and feel unbalanced regularly. We knew that this scene could be better to (all of) us: It could treat us like people with dreams, hopes and needs. It could grow our creativity, and guide to better life choices. 

So, we decided to take the first steps to providing needed change by creating Gain Momentum. An environment that moves the event scene forward by investing in those who make things happen behind the scenes and listen to what’s needed combined with what’s already successful to protect the environment we care about so deeply.

Active within the event and music industry since:
Noah Koppelaar (2015) & Anke Straten (2012)

Most of all, by being curious. Wondering what the output of this industry means for the input from the culture; analyse the behavior around the communicties, events and venues; and practice as much forms of event as possible.

Overtime we met many inspiring souls or experienced minds, who showed us what’s all about. That the event culture is more than ‘just a party’, but a reality many of us deal with every day. One that can be so precious with the right understanding, tools and community. 

By connecting these individuals and opening up to the ones you haven’t met, we shape an environment that allows all of us to experiment and create.
