Backstage is about more than hospitality. A great stage manager in the club and festival industry combines technical knowledge, social skills, and mental resilience. You’re the one who keeps oversight, solves problems on the spot, and ensures everything runs safely and smoothly, even under pressure.

As an optional add-on, Gain Momentum offers a personal Stage Manager Tool Kit.
The kit includes workwear and carefully selected tools for the job, including a flashlight, keychain, hygiene products and practical essentials you’ll use on every shift.
Everything you need to step onto the floor prepared and professional.

What you’ll learn

  • Technical: reading timetables and callsheets, managing changeovers, hospitality, safety, troubleshooting, and understanding the field.

  • Social: clear and concise communication, balancing clarity with hospitality, handling backstage social pressure.

  • Mental: working under pressure, setting boundaries, managing stress, and building resilience during long and demanding shifts.

The program

Over two intensive training days, you’ll dive into realistic simulations with industry guest lecturers. You’ll finish with a theory exam and a practical shift at a live event. Together, these form your final assignment. Your growth continues through check-ins and recertification.
