Anke Straten (1997) grew into the Dutch event industry from the ground up; from volunteering and small production jobs to managing stages, clubs, and artist logistics. More than a decade of hands-on work gave her a deep understanding of both the structure and the chaos that define live events.

Her design-oriented research at HKU Art & Economics led to a clear vision: that sustainable careers in culture depend on structured, practice-based education. From this vision came the Stage Manager Training, developed in collaboration with venues and festivals as a bridge between learning and working in the field.

Today, Gain Momentum continues this mission as a collective of professionals, educators, and event students. Together, we translate research into real-world learning; strengthening the people, systems, and care that keep nightlife alive.
